Releasing the bears into Kosovo’s nature could therefore likely result in further human-wildlife-conflict. Even though surveys conclude that the actual economic damage caused by wild bears is often less significant than that caused by other wild animals, interference with humans is reasonably considered a threat for both, humans and bears, and therefore meets little acceptance in society.
