Ema, Oskar and Ron, three young brown bears, are seemingly excited about a little snacktime as hazelnuts hurtle through the air. The three bears were rescued from two families from Peja, who bought the cubs on the black market when they were just three weeks old.
Scientific research showed that wild bears spend approximately 50% of their daytime with active behaviors of whom a great amount are food-related activities. As a matter of fact, wild animals that are fed on a regular schedule don’t need to spend this much, if any, time foraging for food. Consequently, the amount of inactive or passive time generally tends to increase and can even result in behavioral disorder.
