In the beginning of January 2016, a police fired rubber bullet hit Ahmad Tscha’s forehead resulting in laceration and significant bruising. Ahmad says he wasn’t involved in any confrontation with police, but was sitting with a friend when he turned towards commotion and was hit. The 18-year-old Afghan arrived in Calais in November after fleeing his home in Kunduz province due to the ongoing violence of which he believes Western countries played a significant role in creating it.
